The assault caused the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 car park.

An additional two individuals are now in custody in connection with a theft at London's Heathrow Airport in which 21 people were injured by a substance believed to be pepper spray, according to law enforcement.

A man, 24, was arrested in the Lambeth area for suspected theft and assault and a woman, 23 was detained on suspicion of conspiring to commit a robbery. They both remain in custody, authorities confirmed.

The arrests come after an investigation into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the attack, a pair of female travelers had stolen from them their suitcases upon exiting a parking garage elevator.

A toddler aged three was one of the injured in the event. Five people went to hospital for medical care and have since been released.

Officers detained a man in his thirties for suspected theft and assault close to the location. He has since been released under investigation as the investigation proceeds.

Police were called at about 08:10 GMT following reports of a number of individuals hurt by a noxious substance believed to be pepper spray.

The assault - an event that authorities stated was isolated and not considered an act of terror - resulted in train delays and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the T3 parking facility for a short time.
