The Eyes of Tammy Faye
In the battle between faith and wealth, the winner is obvious for Mammon in Showalter's brilliantly over-the-top film adaptation regarding the shamed televangelist and her criminal husband. Andrew Garfield acts as the corrupt Bakker, who states initially, asserting religious justification for riches. He and Tammy Faye begin monetising the American public's religious faith. It's an extravaganza of tacky decor, overdone appearance and hypocrisy, yet Jessica Chastain achieves to depict the character with compassion. October 14th, late night, Film4
