Aviation information indicated the plane was on the ground in the Texas city from early September to last week.

“We are knowledgeable that this jet was there in that city,” said an NTSB member on Thursday, not giving a specific period. “We will look at every piece of service that was done, even the Texas time, all the way to the time of the journey.”

Retrieval of Critical Items

The audio device and flight data recorder were found, and the motor was located on the runway.

The units – referred to as flight recorders – were designed to endure crash impacts and intense temperatures from infernos, and they looked to be undamaged when found within the remains. Officials plan on examining information from the recorders.

Jet’s final recorded information indicated an elevation of 475 feet and a rate of 210 miles per hour before the impact.

Repair Record

Per FAA files dated 18 September, a crack on a component inside the tank area required fixes.

Singapore-based ST Engineering, which stated it offers airframe maintenance for the company’s aircraft and runs a service location in Texas, declined to comment, but said it would work closely when relevant authorities contacted it.
